photo friday

Today’s word on Photo Friday is Exercise, something I should do more often. Still, the little yoga and stretching I do works wonders on keeping the aches and pains of Fibromyalgia and old(er) age from taking over. My birthday is in two weeks and this one will herald my final year in my forties. The idea of aging has never really bothered me since there’s really only one alternative! I think having lived a good part of my life dealing with health problems has given me a different perspective than some of my friends, I know first hand that how old you are in years doesn’t really matter, it’s how you feel. My mom seems to be a bit better as she settles into the nursing home for some rehab. The goal is to get her strong enough to go home. If she rallies that’s the plan, if not, we may have to begin hospice care 😦

wordless wednesday

Wordless Wednesday contribution this week is one of my recent doodles. We’re taking mom from the hospital to an extended care facility today to see if she can do a little rehab and get some strength back. I saw one of my iStock photos on a window company TV commercial, how wild is that? Too bad I only made a few bucks from the sale, oh well, it was still exciting to see it flash across the screen!

(almost) wordless thursday

I was going to post for Wordless Wednesday and then I realized it was Thursday. It’s been one of those weeks. Took my mom to the hospital yesterday. She had a spill over the weekend and used her head to break the fall, looks like someone hit her in the forehead with a baseball bat! Her head is actually the least of her problems though, so we’re hoping they can straighten a few issues out and make her more comfortable before they ship her back home. Anyhoo, that’s one on my latest iStock photos, my lovely daughter Lizzi volunteered to model for some “spa” pictures 🙂

skywatch friday

I took my mom to get some bloodwork early this morning and then spent a few hours hanging out with her while my dad golfed. She’s not doing so well. It was nice to just be with her though, seems like I usually see her just long enough to drag her to and from doctor appointments. When I got home I decided to participate with a blog that has people post photos of the sky where they live. I went to the park across the street and snapped a few, one of which is gracing this post. There’s a busy playground on one side of the park, a ball diamond, and this lovely little fishing hole tucked between some hills. As I was looking at the peace-filled photos I wondered why I don’t grab a book and go plop down there on a bench to read sometime?

word clouds

Stumbled across another neat generator tonight. It’s called Wordle and was created by Jonathan Feinberg. You create a word cloud, either by entering words yourself or by putting in your blog address and letting it take random words from your posts to make the cloud. Then you can change the colors and fonts, how cool is that? If you embed it with the code you get a small linked version, but I did the screen-capture-paste into my photo program trick to get a bigger version. Give it a try. It takes a couple of minutes to create the cloud but it’s fun to sit back and watch the words appear, thanks for the fun toy Jonathan!
