We’ve been having blue, blue skies here for the past few days and summer-like temperatures. It’s been wonderful to get outside and plant my flowers, good for the spirit and my legs too, I have plenty of soar muscles from all the bending and squatting! Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend and I also hope you pause and take some time over the next few days to remember and honor the men and women who have served their country and made the ultimate sacrifice.

  2. That’s a perfect blue sky. We have not been having this kind of weather here in SoCal, always gloomy in the early mornings, and then smog during the day. And that’s a fine architecture, well preserved. And a good quote from Douglas MacArthur; famous for this “I shall return” during the Japanese occupation in the Philippines.

    My nephew is flying to Afghanistan on Monday. Ironic, huh? Going to serve on Memorial Day and is only 18.

    • Yes, it is ironic. Some things never change. My nephew is a Marine, he’s 19 and is going somewhere (probably Afghanistan) in September:(

  6. What beautiful blue skies! My father-in-law is a navy veteran and my youngest son is in the army. I well know the sacrifices they make and have made. Happy memorial day to you also. Thanks for the reminder.
