skywatch friday

This is the little fishing pond in a park across the street. It’s funny, but until I started taking pictures of it I didn’t appreciate its simple beauty. I guess that’s what photography is all about, isn’t it? The lens wraps itself around an image, separating it from the noise and stopping time, giving us the opportunity to look more closely at the world around us. Happy Skywatch Friday!

  1. Beautiful shot. It’s a lovely pond.

I’ve noticed the same thing about regularly shooting the same area. I start to see things I didn’t realize were there, and the beauty begins to stand out more now that I’m truly looking rather than taking the scenery for granted with just a glance.

  2. How lucky you are to have such a lovely and serene spot right across the street, and I love what you said about the lens and the image.

  3. you’re right… it is so beautiful.
the lens does seem to edit the otherness.
i am so lit up here by yellow leaf and wind and sun translating the transparency… and the shadows, too.

    peace.
